Default Headgasket Vote

Building a early closed deck h22 with bensens sleeves, bensen decided to o-ring my block. Forced induction very high HP application.

Should I go with stock headgasket, cometic headgasket, or other?

Thanks,
Charles

if your motor is bored out at all, i reccomend getting a Cometic. They make different bore sizes for the motor. they are also high quality and do a good job.

You can also get an OEM gasket bored out to fit the motor.

due to my high HP goals, and the fact that its already a 2.2L engine... I went with a 87mm CP piston. So stock headgasket would be suitable still.

I come from the Toyota 3SGTE world, where headgasket problems are easily obtainable if you dont do **** perfect the first time. The headstuds are larger on the H22 than they are on my 3SGTE. I was always told not to use o-rings with a steel headgasket?

If its working for other people than I would not be affraid to try it at all. It wouldnt be the end of the world but I really really would prefer not to have to do it twice.

Any other opinions? Thanks everyone so far!

i have a benson sleeved and o-ringed block, and i used a cometic gasket and did have a problem. they make 2 gaskets, one with copper in them and one without. if u allready have a copper o-ring then u will need the other one.
