Default headgasket ?

I went to get my b18c1 worked on for putting on my turbo and the guy told the engine would be really fast but he said with 12 lbs of boost i would be have to change my head gasket every 3 or 4 weeks. What kind of head gasket are you guys running on your cars and now having problems? Thanks in advance. I dont want to have to replace a headgasket all the time...also if it helps all the internals have been replaced with crower parts and the pistons are 9:1 je pistons. Thanks

I think you misunderstood him. No one in there right mind changes head gaskets every month, unless you plan on setting up your b18 for NASCAR.

Do yourself a favor and don't bring your car back to this guy! He doesn't know what he's talking about...

ok would a flatout racing headgasket the rubber coated copper ones work good for my application? And should I still bore it out to 84 mm and use 8:1 pistons or should I go higher with my compression I want to run 12 psi daily? Should I go with 9:1? and does je pistons make a 9:1 84mm piston? Thanks in advance.

stick with a stock head gasket, listen to Tony. you can run 84mm pistons if its sleeved. they will have one hell of a dish though at 9.0-1cr. keep the c/r around 9.0-10.0. oh yeah don't ever do business with that clown.

K what kind of head gasket are you guys using copper? Rubber coated Copper? Did you o ring the heads? And what kind of compression should I look at with 12 lbs of boost? Should I go with 9:1 or should I venture maybe and stay at 10:1? Let me know please!
