Head studs...ARP's Vs Stock
Ok...I'm going to call a couple of shops and see if I can find a Cometic gasket for my ZC in stock (they stoped making them). If not i'm just going to use the stock carbon gasket.
If I can find one, would I be fine just re-using the stock studs?
Or should I just shell out the $120 for some ARP's?
Thanks!

Re: Head studs...ARP's Vs Stock (Bryson)
Technically you are not supposed to re-use head studs due to the bolt stretch that occurs in the bolt when torqued down. I would shell out the 120 for ARP's, and keep in mind they can be used time and time again
You can get away with using the stock ones if you HAVE to, but i wouldnt... especially on boosted cars.
