Having stud issues.....
not head studs, but exhaust studs. I have had 2 exhaust side studs come off. I went to take my n/a header off to test fit my custom turbo exhaust manifold and when i was unscrewing the bottom ones the whole stud came out with the nut. Anyway to fix this? I have like 10 bucks to my name so is there some little quik fix for this, also whats the best way to get the nut off the studs that came out?
Alright I had a friend tell me there was some kind of tool you could get to do it. But I got a dumb look on my face at sears. I was also maybe thinking when I get my tranny back in this week I could see if a machine shop would have something. I have like 3 within a 1 mile radius of my house.
why not go to a hardware store or auto parts store, get some grade 8.8 or grade 10 if they got boltt??? you can replace the studs w/ bolts just make sure there the same thread size total cost no more then $3
yeah its easy use the double nut locking method to tighten the stud back in. take two nuts and tigten them together on the stud then then tighten the top nut with a wrench or whatever. the bottom nut will be tight with the top nut preventing the two nuts from rotating.
