Default Having some FR traction bar issues.

I have a 99 civic si and i was told that traction bars are bolted up at the bolt near the damper fork bushing that connects the to LCA together. But I have a soild LCA so I was told on my car i remove the bolt that connects the damper fork to the lower control arm is this correct ? Secondly the radious arms they give you with my kit the bars seem to long i know there adjustable but i have them as tight as they can go and there still a tad bit to long. Has anyone ever had this problem ? If i drill the whole bigger on the bracket it will fit. But i'm not sure if want to start drilling things out.

What did you have to do to get it to fit on your car. and what are the differences in the kits

I'm suspost to be getting my IC pipeing rewelded in a couple days so i need to get this installed. Do i put it on the damper fork bolt and just open the hole a little bit on the black bracket they give you, or do i need to get thr backet weled on the LCA 2 inches or so away from the damper fork were the LCA usually connect. How was your installed

if you can weld it on the control arm. then you wont have the deflection on the shock fork bushing.

I'm sorry i didn't quite understand that. Do i want there to be deflection or is that a bad thing.

the idea of the traction bar is to reduce wheel hop/lca deflection to the front and rear caused by acceleration/traction or traction issues . By installing the bracket on the shock bushing, it will still allow for some movement @ the bushing. where as if it were welded straight to the LCA, then you would not have that problem, and your shock bushings will thank you.

Ok so welding it is the better option i get that about how far away from the shock bushing should the bracket be welded and is that common practice for EM1 with solid control arms just welding the bracket on. Meaning dose everyone with a 99-00 si have to get theres welded ?

Ps thanks for helping me bro i really need some help with this.

i would mount it as far out as possible, without hitting the shock fork. keep in mind, with welding, you risk burning the shock fork bushing i dont know how good of an idea this is or isnt. you can always swap to the lower model lower control arms which have a 2 piece in design LCA, that has a stud/nut further inboard. then again, how much work did you really want to do, all for a simple traction bar.

i dunno. if it were my car, id try welding the bracket to the LCA. if the bushing burns, oh well. then id get a new bushing.

I didn't really feel like getting into swaping the LCA lol I'm gonna try welding it near the fork and like you said if it burns ohwell i'll get another one and if worst comes to worst and i cant weld it than I'll just have to put it on the fork and just open the hole on the bracket a little bit to fit the radious arms.

Thanks again man if anyone has any other idead or sugestions feel free to chime in....
