Re: (Willie)
Are you sure you put the rom back in the right way? There is a notch on one side that needs to point at the harness side of the ecu. If you put it in the wrong way once, it might have fried it.

Re: (Willie)
-I highly doubt it my friend. I Look into your wiring and ecu stuff..
if it comes to it, put your stock injectors in and stock MAP and plug an OEM ecu in real fast and see it it starts

Re: (wade)
worst case you just fried the chip out, possibly the ecu(no likely though).

Re: (Willie)
The ostrich seems to be setup right, ive posted on pgmfi to try and get some answers and had no luck. I burnt a new map, put it in the right way and it still wont start is there a chance the plugs are soaked in petrol. Im ready for giving up. The car used to run fine on the old base map.

I know its not the engine, I just cant figure it out. could the ecu be toast. could i have fouled the plugs or is it the map. What tests can i run to figure it out. My prject seems to be going backwards rather than forwards. All opinions welcome.

Re: (Willie)
Okay I just pluged my stock ecu in still running on 450's but i figured it should at least fire up and idle but guess what it didnt start. Im beggining to think that i may have soaked my plugs. Could this be the case?

Re: (Willie)
Ur car will barely run with a stock ECU and 450's.
See if its getting spark by pulling a plug wire and turn it over and watch for spark.

Take the plug out and the ecu fuse. ANd turn the car over to get the gas out of the chambers.
The ecu fuse is in the motor fuse block by the battery.
Then insert the old basemap, or burn a new basemap from crome and just rescale your injectors and see if it throws a check engine light.
If it throws a code, there is a 2 pin jumper under the dash, by the ecu. Jump it with a paper clip and read the codes that check engine light blinks. That is assuming you have and OBD1 or OBD2 car.

your stock ECU will get your car started but your going to have to keep on the gas...... I know this for a fact because I started my car on a stock GSR ECU and I am running 1000cc injectors ..... i did that just to make sure the car would start..... but I am sure its just some stupied grimlins in the tunning or what not...
