Has anyone used these?
Has anyone setup thier downpipes with these modular pipes with v flanges?
I think this way would more cost effective and a cleaner way to do a downpipe setup. One benefit would be that it wouldn't have to worry about welding the perfect angle on the weld to the turbine flange because the connection at the v band swivels. Second if you dinged the bottom of the dp you can replace that section or any other section for that matter. You can also use the piping on a different setup or motor. I was even thinking of v flanging the whole exhaust setup. Any opinions?

They are new from atpturbo.com and come in different angles and different radius diameter elbows. They swivel until you tighten the v band bolt. You can also weld these to custom make your configuration and lengths.
They clamp together with these:

Ive used the v-band clamps and they work great, never used that peice though
Seems like with that setup your going to have to be able to work with alot of room, you wont be bale to start the bend on your downpipe a good 2-3" after using that peice and the clamp assembly.

My truck has one on it fromt he factory, works great until they rust together.
Even then a sharp smack with the hammer and they come right off.

Re: (ModenaTwinTurbo)
Yeah these aftermarket SS ones dont rust. Mine does because it is factory and is 5.5 inches I doubt Ford would want to pay for ten million of those things.
They are awesome though for the DIY'r

Re: (FULLTHROTTLE)
i'm going this route because the old nut and bolt setup just isn't feasible anymore.. just think about the time saved when you're taking off your DP.... well worth the extra $$ my new exhaust system is gonna be v-banded together...

definitely something worth having imo. Tinker219 welded one on to the downpipe so we could swing the dp to be a side exit or ease to run an open dp on my friends integra. Makes install a 30 second job.

Re: (Cyphear)
I figure if a 3" downpipe is going to cost about $500 to have one made, It'll actually cost less or equal to buy the exhaust flange to v band adapter then a 90 degree bend down to a 45 degree welded onto a flex pipe with two bungs (02 and wideband). It'll be so much easier to deal with if I have to remove the downpipe.

Re: (HybridcivicLS-T)
Who takes their DP off on a regular basis? I have had each on of mine off once on each setup. it's four less bolts to take out, max. Unless it's a car that is torn down regularly V bands seem like a huge waste of resources. Put you money into tuning and tires and you will go faster, longer.

Probably would be if someone was using the sidewinder.

Re: (DaX)
i think you can just buy the flange that goes onto your turbo at turbocity, and have a muffler shop weld a downpipe, and it looks really good

v-band clamps rule!!!
V-band everything it costs 2 times as much but the cost outweighs the headaches our turbokit comes with a v-band flange on the turbo directly
