For Fuel lines sure some hard lines would work, not sure about copper BUT why would you even want to do the feed or returns like this Geoff? Like I told you the other day you got too much time on your hands K.I.S.S.

Keep It Simple Silly(Stupid) hahaahaha

I wonder if he ever heard of a distribution block? He'd have saved a shitload of parts, time, and space.

I'd also suggest compression fittings, rather than flares. They're cheap, easy to seal/install, reusable (to a degree) and are good for more oil psi than your motor will put out.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Look closer. Those are all compression fittings. It's a good idea... Like aircraft hydraulics... But if he would have used a couple distribution blocks and spent some time tucking it all, it would have looked a lot better.

Can you imagine trying to work around all that piping? Even if I were dumb enough to run hard piping for vacuum lines, I'd certainly use stainless, not copper.

I say it's a total waste of time and money, let alone having a hundred potential leak points.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I have already done this with my last turbo setup, I only did the oil feed line, but was going to do the return as well, just didnt get around to it b4 my ringlands went. I will be doing the oil feed and return lines this way when my car is finished, I wanted to do it on all my vacuum stuff, but the damn boost solenoid (gm) has barbed ends. Those are def ss lines, if he was smart they are ss tubing and fittings from swagelok. They make kick *** fittings. Tubing rated @ 2000+ psi and will take a crap load of vibration. The compression fittings use a double ferrule that seals VERY well. You can reuse those compression fittings again and again, as long as the person who used the fitting the first time did not overtighten it and ruin the ferrules. I prolly wouldn't do hard lines from motor to anything else stationary in the bay though.

btw, I work @ a power plant so I get all the swagelok stuff I want for free 99!! I sure as hell wouldn't do it otherwise as those fittings are crazy expensive!!!!! Pretty cool setup.

copper lines are a no-no they break under vibration. i had first hand experience in this ended up blowing the turbo seals. never again would i use copper lines on my car. steel or stainless would work though. like on wet system nitrous set ups.

I did look close. Flare and compression look virtually the same when they are only 10 pixels on my screen.

The other thing they could do to prevent cracking (during vehicle operation) is heat-treating the metal. Most tubing is annealed (softened), otherwise it would crack when elongated so much during bending. Heat treating it after it's formed gives it more strength and crack resistance.
