Has anybody used "Crome"??
In the continued pursuit of tuning bliss, I came across Crome at pgmfi.org. Has anybody esle used it here? I noticed it's a more "windows-ized" program like Hondata, lots of features and stuff, easy as hell to setup and use. Just wondering if anybody esle has used or heard of it becuase I've never seen it mentioned here on H-T and it really has my attention.

I have tune my car with it and have had great success.. It's still in the developing stages but so far I am very happy with it.. They have scripts available for it also on pgmfi.org under the software section..

I like the way Crome looks. I haven't actuallly hooked it up to a burner, but based on the look and feel I get between the two when analyzing roms, I'll probably try Crome before I try Uberdata - although I'm sure I'll give both a chance.

Does it matter? If they're both functionally the same then there's no real reason to choose one over the other than pure choice. I just like the windows friendly approach of Crome, that's what caught my attention to it in the first place. Personally, I'm gonna try both and see what happens though at a glance, I don't expect there to be much of a difference.

from playing with both they seem to be both the same...especially now with all the Uberdata updates lately. I think John, the guy who created Crome will be incorparating datalogging soon with the "Cuddle" datalog program he also developed

Crome is now basically an unupdated / orphaned application. The guy who wrote (john cui) ignored any/all emails from people and whats more is a Hondata dealer/tuner (according to his shops website anyway). The current version has some bugs in it, beware.
If I were you guys, I'd get used to Uberdata and call it a day. You may not 'like' blake but he hasnt orphaned the application, fixes bugs in a timely mannor, is fully scriptable just like Crome now (actually way more powerful than cromes JS script engine!!), and can even do rom assembly (if you're good with oki66k code )

What you guys dont realize is, the author of crome lurked on pgmfi and copied 90% of his ****. Notice how in the early stages of crome, most of his features were p72 only? Hmm.. uberdata only supports p72. And NOONE on pgmfi except for me developed p72 stuff back then (they all work on p30). You may like his interface better, but I started it all. Right now, crome is lacking many critical features uberdata has.

Can't we all just get along... Both applications are good.. Crome is still being supported by others at pgmfi with scripts.. Dave just created another Open/Close loop for crome last night.. They are both good, just use which ever you feel most comfortable with. I hate to see this thread go to crap over which is better..

Re: Has anybody used "Crome"?? (dabrown)
crome will never die on pgmfi because they are all p30 loving hippies and wont admit p72 code is better because it is the most universal and the code is grouped together better They dont have obd1 p72's in europe, thats why they work on p30's.

writing a script for it and actually UPDATING THE EXECUTABLE are two different things. please understand the concepts before posting on something like this dude.
