Haltech F5
neither.......... for such low boost......... you don't need a standalone..... save your money and just get an AFC or something equivalent....... you'll be just as happy, you only need something like haltech for more modified applications.... where specfic tuning is required....... in this case....... ask anyone here what i'll say......... ELECTROMOTIVE

Once you try an AFC and compare it to a stand alone equipped car, the difference is night and day. You'll wonder why you listened to the guys on Honda Tech and rigged up that ghetto **** in the first place
I went from FMU to AFC "hack" to an Uberchip. Every step of the way was a massive improvement.

Well I have a 2001 Civic so the FMU is out of the question do to my cars ghey return less fuel system. Another person who has a turbo setup that I talked to ran a SAFC and RC 440's his car bogged and liked to stall a lot even after massive amounts of tuning on a dyno. So I am going with an extra injector setup (because I pretty much have no other choice)...The question is a Haltech F5 injector controller, or a Erl MF2 extra injector controller. My shop really hates the MF2, but I have gotten so many mixed opinions on it I dont know what to believe...I saw Turbo D17's setup and he used a Haltech F5 and said it worked great, so I do not know which one to get. I have the MF2 already, but I am contemplating returning it and getting the Haltech F5. So if anybody could give me some input on which to get that would be great. Also you can IM me...my SN is: zinkyroo.
Well thanks for reading this! A

if your going w/ haltech id reccomend getting the ek6 version, the guy a few of my friends go to for rx7 related stuff deals w/ haltech alot. he has seen quite a few F5 ecus failing. but if you get a good one, best of luck to you
The e6k is a whole computer and will require alot more work. The f5 is a simple additional injector controller, easy to install and the car runs exactly as stock out of boost. It's really the way to go. If you want, give me a call at the shop and i'll see if i can still get one.

afc isn't ghetto for such low boost.......... and uberchip isn't exactly standalone

Ehhh, ok. AFC is pretty ghetto since it's just modifying signals to the ECU. Uberchip not standalone? That's funny, so you're saying Hondata isn't stand alone. Maybe you didn't realize that the Uberchip did everything Hondata could do.
If you're going low boost, like 5 PSI, you could go with an in-tank high pressure pump in lieu of the inline pump.
Just a though...probably a little more quiet and one less thing to have sitting in your engine compartment (if that's where you end up mounting it).

with all that money your gonna put into that ""standalone"" unit and fuel system...... why not do a slight build on the motor and run more boost........ to me it just sound like you got some extra change to blow
standalone/piggy back........ its all the same, whatever works for you
