Default Half or Full Size Radiator?!

Hallo,

i plan a B16 / SC34 Setup in my 91' CRX. Currently i have a custom made full size radiator but maybe i need another one because its broken and i don't know if it makes sense to fix it.

now the question, who of you run a half and who a full size radiator. with the full size i never had any heat problems but with a half size i'am not sure.

so i wan't to check what other ppl have experienced with half size radiators?

i know that there are a lot of post but i take a short look and didn't found exactly what i want to know...

Thank
Malte.

I have a half size del sol dual core radiator and dont have any overheating problems.

But if you are doing road racing or high speed runs you may want the full size.

I am going full size due to lack of space. Its hard to fit a GT35s under the hood, with your down pipe going down the drivers side.

Do an aftermarket crossmember with a half wide Fluidyne rad. That will free up some room in the front and still keep you cool, not to mention better traction from the new x-member

since you have a CRX your manifold and turbo setup might sit too far forward so a full size rad may not work.Below is a pic of my CRX/B18C with Revhard manifold and Precision T3/T04E. I dont know if flipping the compressor to the passenger side and notching the block would fit, cause I've never seen anyone run that on an EF.

At this time I am working with that dilema, I have a GT35s on my B18B block with full race traction bars and my down pipe was fabricated to go down the drivers side so I notched my block to let the S housing sit snug next to the block. A half size would have no room to lean, so went with a full size with about a half inch of clearance.

half size is pretty much your only option. if you go with a dual core rad with an aftermarket slim fan, you shouldnt have any overheating problems. while you are at it. pickup a low temp thermostat and fan switch. it helped me alot

I used a dual-core half size. It worked great for street and drag strip use making over 400WHP. It wasn't enough for road course though, I had to get the Fluidyne half size after one day at Roebling Road, temp gauge has never been over halfway since. If you can afford it, get the Fluidyne.
