hack$$$
why is the afc hack cheaper than hondata? im not starting **** but everyone that has the hack seems to have some sort of a fuel problem. is it just kinda a cheap ecu upgrade rather than getting a hondata ecu?
Read all you want about a VAFC hatck

Here is some Uberdata Info

The reason that the Hondata is more expensive is because it is a MUCH more powerful tuning tool.

Both the VAFC and the Hondata are piggyback systems to the factory ECU, not a complete replacement like the AEM EMS. Hondata has many more features and more adjustability. The VAFC also has many helpful features, but cannot offer the complete support that the Hondata does. One feature of the Hondata is the ability to datalog. There are at least 4 seperate levels of Hondata, from the 100-400 (I think, someone with more knowledge help me out please) and they have different options. You can get WOT shifts, a boost option among the options.

A for effort, D- for having half a clue.
The EMS is a computer just like the Honda ECU is a computer. You program the computer any damn way you please, and they call that a standalone.
You can fiddle required sensor inputs and calibrations within the Honda ECU to run on any input or any engine if you cared to take the time to do the reverse engineering. It's just a program running the ECU just like it's a program running an EMS.
What you're claiming about Hondata vs EMS is about as logical as claiming that Intel is a standalone computer and AMD is a piggyback to your existing computer.

Okay, thanks for clearing it up. I have never seen/run Hondata, so all of what I know about it is secondhand. Is it a complete replacement like the EMS or what then?? If you reread my post, I DID say that the EMS was a COMPLETE REPLACEMENT for the factory ECM. The Hondata, from what I understand is a piggyback system, similar to an E-Manage *what I DO run and know about* that you hook up to your factory ECM (with the s200 and higher systems). The Uberdata is a chip that you can hook to your ECM once you have it socketed. And the VAFC is a hack that you run. All of this is correct or no?
Hondata = uberdata in the sense that they are BOTH chips. the s100 is nothing more than a chip (totally contained w/in the ecu) and the s200 is the same with the edition of a tuning interface and an external 'hondata blue box' that connects to the ecu.
Hondata has more features / much more support / more tuners, but in essence, hondata is the same thing as uberdata: A custom program for the stock ecu, whereas AEM EMS does indeed completely replace the stock ecu outright.
As far as that making it a better system, that is not 100% true. They both do the same thing for the most part, it's just that the EMS has all the parts integrated into the EMS housing (the benefeit of scrapping the stock ecu and starting from scratch) and the hondata unit has special controls that the stock ecu doesn't have (ie nitrous controls, etc) built into the blue box that seamlessly interfaces with your stock ecu.
As far as logic is concerned, Hondata and AEM are BOTH standalone's - as far as how they physically connect, they differ.
