Don't have an ansewr for ya, but let me know if you find any information on this because I was considering the same thing for my F22. What did they want to charge you for the sleeves?

Do you have any information on the type of sleeves? Maybe a website - although I've looked everywhere. The only thing I find are the big $$$ jobs. The reason I ask is because my machine shop said they could get sleeves as cheap as $20/sleeve, not sure if these are any stronger or just oem replacements.l

Thanks again...

Lets see some pics. I am curious to see if this is just a replacement "drop in" cylinder sleeve, which I am sure it is for that cheap. For the H22 there are 3 types of sleeves available, from Darton: 1: The drop in replacement sleeve, which is simply a cylinder of ductile iron that is pressed into your block after the proper machining is done to allow the sleeve to fit, the 2nd kind is the flanged kit, which is slightly beefier and has a flange to locate the sleeves in your block, less chance of movement. The last kind is the PRO kit, this is the kit that you see on most race cars, closed deck, the block deck all around the cylinders is all ductile iron, this is the sleeve kit that everyone says is tested to 55 psi! The PRO kit was not available for the already closed deck 93-95 prelude motors until just recently, and now it is available through Darton. Hope this helps.

Oh, BTW I sell Darton sleeves!

Why are you sleeving when you don't have to?

You people are very dense. They no make pistons so you don't have to sleeve with forged pistons. The H & F series don't otherwise have to be sleeved. Thanks to a closed deck design it's strong enough without sleeving.

Wassup Symba! Havent heard from you for a while......How's your turbo project?

Anyways.....When the sleeves were done on my block, the old sleeves were machined out, and the new ones were pressed in. My block is the closed deck block. The sleeves are ductile iron sleeves. I also replaced my pistons and rods with Arias 9.6:1 20over and eagle rods.

It does look a little thin though. But, my concern is that if it was bigger, it would mean they would have to machine into the block. I would take pictures but my cousin already bolted up the head and turbo. I'll let you guys know how everything turns out.

Tzsir....can't really make out the the second sentence. The closed deck is strong but the H series pistons tend to fail (from what I heard). And we cant just install forged pistons in our H series blocks without resleeving. The material in the H series is too soft and not compatible with forged pistons unless it is resleeved....

tzir is right...I talked to Jeff @ importbuilders about the pistons...

Jeff said that the pistons are teh same, it's just that Wiseco has made new rings that work with FRM sleeves

I have heard about these too. Thing is its still too new for me to risk a build up to something that in my mind has yet to be proven. Besides how long would they hold up to 14psi if not more?

Well hell, that's awesome..I didn't know that. I'm sure there are a lot of HT members that don't. I need to check a little further into this one. Could save me a bundle..Wonder how much pressure those puppies can handle though..I want to run 1 bar.(14.7psi)

Wassup 95preludevtec206, it has been a while. I've been around just learning. It's a never ending quest for knowledge. But things are going slow.....very very slow. I'm waiting on my manifold, downpipe, and dumptube from a GB. Got the turbo, fuel pump, suspension, r33 taillights, headlights...on backorder are the gauge pods Greddy gauges and remaining pieces to fuel system..Then I still need the Hondata, oil kit and other knick knacks.

should be able to do h series sleeves for $550 shipped with no problems. I will need to check if the h23 sleeves are the same as h22.

The JE/Wiseco stand had the pistons with the rings on display at SEMA this year. I was going to buy a F22 that's the only reason I looked. Now I can't find an f22.

well i talked to jeff at import builder and this is how the convo went...

me: What pistons do you have that work with the FRM coated sleeves of the
h23a. Also how much do they cost? I was told that the h23 has to be
resleeved in order to take forged pistons, is that true?

Jeff: I would sleeve it, personally.
But I have some turbo pistons that are supposed to work. From Wiseco.

So even he thinks it should be resleeved and he was scepticle about the pistons.

Thanks flip1199, that's good to know. It's tempting but since I want to run 1bar, I think I should stick with resleeving
