Default h22a + boost.

my buddy just got his prelude turbocharged with a fmax kit.

the kit is great fit and finish in awesome seems like a great turbo setup.

he is not tuned yet, but the thing is making dog **** for power, like really slow.

i just wanted to get people opinions on boosted stock h22a

the car is a 01 prelude stock motor with a fmax kit and a greddy emanage
stock cat with a 2.5 inch exhaust. wastegate routed in the dp.

He needs to get it tuned, and should not be boosting on it until he does.

There is nothing wrong with boosting on a stock H22 if it is PROPERLY TUNED.

The ring lands are weak because the pistons are cast. Detonation can ruin even forged pistons. However, I wouldn't boost higher than 10 psi on a stock H22. I'm personally running 9 myself.

Ringlands went in a friend of mines Prelude (F-max kit installed by me), ringlands have been the problem on others as well, however a properly tuned car will work miracles. L'orange's car is doing great I hear.

As far as the F-max kit,... good kit,... but it is still a KIT. Spend some money, get at least an AFC for minor tuning, put it on the dyno with a WIDEBAND .

yeah he is just waiting for his appt for tuning.

he has emanage and 550rc injectors.

i told him not to go over 11psi with c16
then 7.5 psi for daily driving on pump 93
