h22 turbo???
Im boostin my h22 eg and i was wondering if anyone has any tip or recomenditions on the turbo setup and engine build... im thinking about leaving the motor stock for now just doin the fuel with 450dsm injectors, 255 fuel pump, fuel pressure reg, then as far as the turbo im going with a t3/t4 70trim ... and suggestions on what type of blow off, wastegate, and whats type of ecu to run, somthing that i can get dyno turned.. thanks

If you are staying around 9-10 lbs and have a good system for controling AFRs and timing, (Hondata, Neptune etc.) you should be ok. For higher boost levels it helps to add sleeves, pistons and rods that can stand up to the demands you'll be placing on them. H22s are notorious for weak ring lands.

get yourself some bigger injectors right off the bat. 450cc injectors will get you to 300whp. so once you pass that your going to end up buying new ones. Decide your final whp goal now and pick injectors accordingly.
Wastegate i would suggest Tial, but theres other good brands. BOV is probably the least critical item, it just has to work correctly. Look around for sound clips and pick the one you like the sound of.
Get a P72 ECU from a GSR, have it chipped and pick a program. Crome and uberdata are free. Hondata gets a little expensive but has more features. AEM is said to be the most hardcore tuning program but it will cost you alot.
As far as power on the stock block goes, i'd say stay below 300whp. Remember whp kills your car not boost pressure. If you've got the money, sleeve it along with pistons, rods etc.

Those are junk and don't fit worth a rats ***. You end up using a ton of couplers.

i had a very similar setup. with custom piping and downpipe. and tial 38mm wastegat. stay away from the turbonetics delatgate- they spike boost. hks ssqv work great. greddy's are good too but thier internalsd are made with some wolven material which can rip, and begin to loose its function. my car was tuned on crome and made a safe 250 whp 240 wtq at 8 psi. if i were you i would stay around 8 psi range. the ringlands are weak for boost. stay away from ebay **** most likely thier piping isn't beaded around the edges and will pop off when boosted. one more thing i cant stress enough--buy a good manifold. if you go cheap it will just end up breaking and you'll have to reweld a million times. hope this helps

Re: h22 turbo??? (Bumble-BEE)
boost over 14 psi on h22 stock bottom end you get this
been there done that. make sure you have a good tuner and a decent program(ems) as far as piping it is worth it to have someone make a custom setup for your own car. along with the dp. trust me! ive been there. if its at all possible sleeve your block and buy pistons and rods you will thank yourself in hte end,
just my .02

Re: h22 turbo??? (lshatch59)
I'm also doing a stock block H22 turbo project. I've got a TiAL wastegate, and TiAL blow off valve, also picking up Hondata S300 for my P28. I'm running DSM 450's,m Walbro 255 Hi-pressure pump and still need to pick up my Aeromotive FPR. I'm only going to be running a T3/T4 .50 trim. Should be effiecent for the cause.
Just some of my recommendations.

Re: h22 turbo??? (h22sedan)
I ran 370whp on a bone stock h22. Just be conservative on the timing. I would rather have more boost pressure and less timing then less boost with more timing to achieve the same HP numbers.

Around the same numbers I plan on reaching. (350-400whp).
What was your setup?

Re: h22 turbo??? (Team_Carnage)
i did a real quick budget build a week before boti. It consisted of a sc61, ebay IC, 750cc, Power Fc, a ghetto ram horn, ebay 46mm wastegate, 3 inch charge pipes, and a 2.5dp that got smashed on the bottom lol. Pretty ghetto but it did the job

Before I built my H22 a few years ago,I ran a stock H22 with an Inline Pro thicker 2mm head gasket.Cometic also makes one.I ran 440cc injectors at 14psi and a chipped computer and ran that motor for a year and a half.It was still running good before I built it.I had 2 and a half inch piping from the intercooler and a 3" exhaust with downpipe.I used a Greddy type S BOV and a Tial 35mm waste gate.I never dynoed it at the time but it ran an 11.19 at 123MPH on 91 pump gas.It would be better if U sleeved the block and just build it because it will last alot longer. Also retard your timing to 14 degrees.Good Luck,Darrell
