H22 bottom end
I am planning on running a H22 with some boost, but i need a crank that will be able to handle it. Do you guys know of any companies that make performance crankshafts for the H22? Thanks

Re: H22 bottom end (dasher)
Well, thats what i thought but i also blew up a basically stock h23. I was told by a mechanic that the crankshaft was cracked but i have yet to tear into it to find out. Have you ever heard of any thing like this of was he just giving me a load of you know what. Also, this my be a dumb question but if you sleeve your block does that also make it a closed deck block? Thanks again!!

you can get closed and open deck sleeves - just do a search on sleeves and you'll find more info than you can handle/want.
Like dasher said, honda oem cranks are pretty tough, but anything's possible I guess. I'd have a look at the crank though. If you spun a bearing, I'd probably look into a new crank depending on how bad it is.

h22's are closed deck to begin with, so sleeving it will keep it closed deck...
Your crank may be damaged but it wouldn't have been the crank which would have failed first but rather detonation throwing a rod into your crank which would have caused the damage .... OEM cranks are stout.
If your crank is damaged buy another used OEM one andhave it blueprinted -- don't waste 1000 dollars on an aftermarket one.

first you mention an h22 , now your talking about an H23..... no matter - they are both closed deck to begin with.

Re: H22 bottom end (dasher)
Well, I have a 94 Prelude Si which i blew up. So I am ordering a JDM H22 to replace the blown H23. I am planning on running boost to it and I was just worried that i would end up cracking another crank. I just figured that it was the weak point on the H series engines. If i dont need to worry about that crank then what would u think is the weakest point of the engine. Thanks again for your help!!

Here is the list-
pistons(ringlands)
sleeves (Thinner than B series)
Rods
Headstuds
You need to sleeve it to run most aftermarket forged pistons because H22's have frm sleeves.
Save up and do it all right from the get go ... don't cut corners.
