guys with Turbo Type R's
i need your opinions and i need some hp #'s
1. Headwork, after reading some of the previous threads that i searched on, i'll prolly do my head @ Portflow or DRP. Any of you guys did it? what stage? and how much hp gain after tuning? (i'll prolly do standard P&P, oversized valves, retainers, valvesprings, valve guides, maybe *roller rocker arms $$$$ * any info would help
2. Intake Manifold, i know i know only a few people really know about this product, but what's ur take on the JG intake manifold? I'm currently running 4 sub injectors on the stock manifold and considering only JG can make additional sub injector holders in the manifold and the shorter runner would help i think

don't touch it.stock will work just fine(see sig).i have destroyed three sets of pistons in the past and the head has survived it all.i even went to 50lbs. of boost by accident once.cracked all for cylinders and the head was fine.just do some tuning and put more fuel and boost on it.

If I was going to do a nice project , I would do the headwork aswell. I know people say that the TypeR head comes ported and polished from factory but that is bitch polishing and porting. I would surely get it ported and polished, like a stage 2. If u can't afford it, only thing I would change is the retainers in the head. Retainers are the only thing that can give up under boost on high rpms. Good luck

listen to turbo typeR he knows whats up.. anyways leave your head the way it is.. The money you are spending I cannot justify it when for the same price you could build the bottem end.. Or buy a bad *** standalone and fuel system..
but then again turboR knows his **** too.. id say just get everything that will benifit you the most for the money.. hp and safety wise.. then go all out

well..i can justify the price of the whole work for the head, it's just that the roller rocker arms cost as much as the whole head work including the parts for it!
it's winter time, good time to work on the car so by spring...gunning for mid-low 11's
my last run was 12.9@112mph on street tires on the stock mags without playing with the suspension setup nor the cam gears, full interior, weight'd in @ 2600lbs. hhmm..slicks and more tuning

with some friendly advice from Scott at Overboost.com, I plan to just lower my static compression 1 point, (possible blockguard, but still debating the pros and cons), MF2 + 2 440cc injectors (but may go stand alone later) and the rest will be bone stock...
I have a slight advantage in that i can get 96 to 100 octane gas regularly, so it helps a bit with detonation..

The head should be good stock. Standalone is the way to go. block guard is an option but it must be installed properly or you will run into cooling problems.

Not sure I can agree with these guys from my experience. I'm barely boosting 1.0-1.2 bar and either my valve stem seals or guides have gone in #4. Granted the stock OEM is good, I'd like to see the flow numbers from the head.

well...my head is ok right now boosting pass 1.0 bar but i want more power! hehe
i'd like to keep it stock as possible (soo standalone is not an option)
