Guess the sleeve
So there is a used block im thinking of buying that has sleeves with what looks like a copper ring in the middle and the owner says "these are the good kind" . Anyone can shed some light on this ?
find a different block. I wouldn't buy from someone who doesn't know what they have.
I would never purchase a sleeved block without full receipts and/or without having a machine shop inspect it first. Just because a block has say Benson sleeves doesn't mean they were installed correctly.

Golden Eagle ductile Iron sleeved with a copper O-Ring. Nice stuff. No issues, no worries, Golden Eagle is the only location that puts them in. Reminds me of mine.. (Still have my original GE sleeved block from 2003, with about 40K miles of street fun and about 50or so road racing events)
You got lucky. No need to replace the o-ring, its fine, looks like a flat surface. Use and enjoy.

Yea very nice sleeves, I would at least check the deck to see if its level by using one of those flat bars and a set of feeler gauges
