Guess the sleeve
So there is a used block im thinking of buying that has sleeves with what looks like a copper ring in the middle and the owner says "these are the good kind" . Anyone can shed some light on this ?

I would never purchase a sleeved block without full receipts and/or without having a machine shop inspect it first. Just because a block has say Benson sleeves doesn't mean they were installed correctly.

Golden Eagle ductile Iron sleeved with a copper O-Ring. Nice stuff. No issues, no worries, Golden Eagle is the only location that puts them in. Reminds me of mine.. (Still have my original GE sleeved block from 2003, with about 40K miles of street fun and about 50or so road racing events)
You got lucky. No need to replace the o-ring, its fine, looks like a flat surface. Use and enjoy.

Yea very nice sleeves, I would at least check the deck to see if its level by using one of those flat bars and a set of feeler gauges

^^LOL on the unusable power band, I daily a b16 EF with a gt2860RS, you want a usable powerband nothing beats that lol
stock bore,Im going to freshen up the motor new bearings etc so I presume I can bore to 84 and just switch out pistons..or would that ruin the sleeve? turbo is an s372R and im trying to run mid 8's or better in a 1500 lb crx with a wheelie bar (my country has no class rules) .. what yall think?

Sure. use an S372 if you want.
