Default GT3540R or Precision SC53

Hey im trying to decide on with turbo i should run with? Got a 2.0ltr with 9.2:1 compression, A head that flow pretty damn good, just want to run high 300hp for DD. Run low 11's at the track.

the GT series turbos are better.

Id go with the one you mentioned, or an SC61.

Get an SC61. It has the GT40 wheel in it. Do not get a SC53!

gt is better but precision = cheaper.
if you can live with some longer lag go with precision.

It isnt better, its the same thing. That is like saying Honda=good, Acura=Better.
The GT relates to the family of wheels. The good thing that Garrett has is the ball bearing. But to be released by precision soon too made by garrett.

The SC53 has a 60-1 compressor which is less effcient and flow less than the SC61. You make more power and have the same exact, if not better, boost response with the SC61 and a T350 .76 trim(aka stage 5 wheel).

Get the SC61 it will supply you with plenty of topend for you and amazing spool up for a turbo of its size.

Anything that we come out with will have the Garrett dual ball bearing CHRA. The only single ball bearing on the market now is the Turbonetics.

We are no longer recommending the SC-53. The SC-61 is definitely more turbo for the money at the same price.

So how good are the SC54 turbos? I have a fully built B18C1 with 84.5mm pistons, eagle rods headwork etc.
