Default GT2871R Compressor Upgrade

I'm looking at a GT2871R and I notice you can get the 4" inlet or the 2.75" inlet upgrade. Will the upgrade cause anymore lag then on the standard inelt size of 2" I think? Lotsa info on the GT28RS, not much on GT2871R and it's compressor upgrades. just curiosu how much more lag with the larger compressor hosung, and if top end will be effected enough to makeup for the slower spool

the 2871 is so laggy (compared to 28rs) anyway... it wont matter. that turbo is going to be limited more by the turbine housing/wheel than the compressor, so just keep with the 28rs.

Threads about this always seem to go off topic. Does anyone actually know the performance differences between the different compressor housing options on the 2871r?

I agree with the rest if you don't want lag get the .64... <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by LeGeND4LiFe &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Threads about this always seem to go off topic. I searched there, didn't find any performance data on differences between the different compressor housings.

You'll actually see improvement with the larger compressor housing. The main reason why the GT2871R has the smaller comp housing option is to become a direct bolt-on to existing GT28RS users. If you have the room to run the larger housing (if you are set on getting a GT2871R), you should go with the larger compressor housing

the 71 compressor works ok on a sr20 b/c those things dont rev out like a honda does.. the 28 turbine chokes up real bad in the upper rpms. the 71 wheel is physicly a good bit bigger than the normal rs wheel, thus it takes a little more time to spool, transient response is nowhere near as good as the normal rs.
