Default gsr manifold question?????

I am builng an ls/vtec and got a gsr head an im. I will prolly be using a p28 on hondata. Do i need to remove the secondary butterfly valves in order for the **** to work? will this add to any performance (prolly not that much)? Or should i just get a p72?

Leave the vacuum line disconnected, or remove the whole plate altogether.

With the p28, you will have no control over the solenoid.

And with the Hondata, you should be able to tune it out.

The facotry manifold with no runners can flow quite a bit of air, upgrade it when you need it, which aint gonna be anytime soon I imagine.

how difficult is it to remove the valves? Is there special tools needed or anything extra to be done. I have never taken one apart but i doubt it is that difficult.
do i need gaskets once i take it apart??

The plate is sandwiched between the 2 piece manifold. It is held into place with 2 studs, and 2 bolts.

When the vacuum line is disconnected, the valves are constantly open, and you can leave it like that if you like, or open it up and remove the butterflies completely.
If you take the plate out, you will remove plenum volume.
I have seen guys take the plate out, and machine it so that its just a spacer with nothing in between.
No special tools are required for that job, its pretty simple.

The choice is yours.

Oh, and once you take it all apart, yes you will need new gaskets.
If you do take it all apart, atleast replace the IM gasket with a Hondata one, and never worry about that one again.
