Default Greddy Turbo Kit:

OK guys, I just got a greddy turbo kit for my 96 civic Ex. I was initially gonna go all motor and see what I could get out that a SOHC but took everyone's suggestions on a turbo kit. Anyways I bought a new DC SS 4-1 header and since the kit already come with a manifold was wondering if I should just use the manifold or use the DC (or can I even use the DC with my turbo kit). Anways, I got an intercooler, HKS BOV, a boost gauge and a vortech FMU. It came with a 15G turbo. Haven't installed it yet but was curious on what kinda added HP I could expect. Also what kinda suggestions do you have to add even more HP.

Yeah... that's a great idea... Use the DC header w/ your turbo. You will be the first one! lol....

My suggestions on more hp is to swap out your sohc for a dohc and turbo that motor. Expect about 150-160 whp with that kit @ stock boost levels.

guys guys guys, please give him a break, we all need to learn, lets help him instead of kicking his ***.
My friend a DC Header can only work if you are going all motor as previously planned. Take a look at your Greedy manifold and compare it with the DC header. Remember, the turbo bolts on to the flange at the end of the header, now if U were to bolt that turbo on to the DC header it will end up under the car, so U see thats not possible. your turbo manifold is designed to "hang" the turbo right off the head so that all that good hot exhaust can spool up the turbo quickly and so generate positive boost.

I bet on the 4-2-1 if you only used the 4-2 section you could fabricate an adapter to bolt a turbo on the end, but it certainly wouldn't be a GOOD solution... might kinda drag the turbo on the ground too.

Well first of all BOYS; obvioulsy I'm new into the import scene or the question of using the DC Header wouldn't have been asked; Secondly, I don't get my kit until Monday so I wouldn't be able to compare the too just yet...Anyways now that I know I won't be able to use it, with all the above I listed what Hp should I expect to hit and then throw some suggestions(NO SWAPS!!!!) on what I should do next to hit more hp and what to even get next...Thanks for the info!!!!!!!!

On the EX kit, I believe you will see about 150 at the wheels at stock boost levels (someone correct me if I'm wrong..) The kit on stock boost levels is good for mid 14s on the 1/4mile.

Your next mod should be an exhaust, or an anti-detonation device so you can run higher ignition timing.

have fun there..chill

Hey thanks man with the 150 hp projection...I have a 2.5 custom exhaust right now and just talked to one guy about the MSD BTM set with the external coil, cap, and all. Anyways, that's all I'll have for now. Any suggestions on just regular plugs wires?8.5 MSD ?Magnacore? NGK? etc. and also what do you guys think about the next step being a fields controller. With the exhaust I have now how much hp do you think that adds to the 150 (5hp? 10hp?) also should I stay at 2.5 or do I need to increase any...2.5 was suggested to me when I ordered the turbo kit last week. Also what would the igniton setup, vtec fields controller, plug wires add for me and any good sites or places to find them...Thanks guys...
