Default Greddy turbo question

Okay, I have my stock '96 Civic EX. I am going to begin building a nice engine swap OUTSIDE the car. Probably going to go either LS/Turbo or LS/VTEC/Turbo with either the DRAG, FMAX or RevHard kits. This engine is going to be a serious build, talking resleeved block, pistons, valvetrain, the whole 9 yards.

All of that doesn't do me a whole lot of good right NOW.

I'm sick of my EX's absolute LACK of power. I am considdering buying a Greddy turbo kit (new or used) to install just to get a little more kick until the new engine.

Three questions:

1. If I take care of the turbo and don't whale on it, what am I looking at for re-sale value?

2. If I get a used one, what should I look for to make sure it's in good condition? (I know the concepts of turbos, just don't know all the details, still learning)

3. What kinds of gains will I be looking at on an otherwise stock D16Y8? I will be upgrading exhaust, etc... along the way.

Thanks guys!

P.S. And please no comments on which turbo to get now or later on. I have decided on the Greddy now for cost reasons, and I will decide on the future turbo when I get around to it.

get the drag, then when you goto swap, you can just get a new manifold, and the turbo should pretty much x fer over

So the drag on a D16 will cross over to a B18B with a different manifold?

How much $ do the DRAG III's run now? I'll check groupbuycenter, but others may know of better deals.

Thanks!

Just looked at importparts.com and that confirmed my hesitation about getting the DRAG III right now. Don't have the $.
