Greddy turbo kit install.
I am installing a full Greddy Trubo kit into a 2000 civic. I was wondering if anyone has installed a kit like this and if they ran into any problems? Also if you did anything special to the downpipes, like put heat wrap on them? Any suggestions on other mods i should do while i have my car up for the winter?
The greddy kit has been installed my several members on this board, like myself. The greddy kit is very straight foward and complete. you should not have any problems. if you do, just ask we are here to help. Which kinda car/motor is this going on?
recommendations:
get some gauges.
get two step colder plugs
do a compression test to make sure your motor is heathly.
do a search on greddy on this board and read up about the kit
and visit these sites. turbocivicsi.con and turbocivic.net these should help you out.

You are more than likely going to have to do something about how close the actuator sits to the fan shroud. Either with a dremel, or by drilling a hole in the stock "bracket" that holds the fan on and suck it closer to the bumper. Someone did this once and had pictures of it.

I had been told by a performance shop here in town that there is a sensor inside you intake manifold and it read preassure inside the manifold. They also told me that if this sensor sees boost that the engine will go into like a safe mode or just not start at all. Can you guys clear this up for me, I have a kit ordered and I want to know how to fix this if it fact it does happen
Here is the pics of when fredoSP, Direp, and my self did the install.

ok, i've seen alot of SOHC greddy kits installed and none of them had this modification. i have a greddy GSR turbo kit on my b16 in a 92 hatch and the wastegate actuator comes close, but not that close. do you really have to modify the fan shroud?

I am pretty positive you will have to. I did and there was another guy on this board that had to as well. Im talking about the silver bracket in this picture
Notice how two new holes were drilled in it to bring it closer to the bumper. I think you need some NGK BCP (BRK) 7ES-11 gapped to around .030-.035.
