Greddy Turbo Information Needed...Practical Advice Wanted...
Sup all?
I've decided to go with a Greddy turbo for my B18C, bone stock. I know the other kits make more power but I have to pass Cali emissions. My goal is 280 HP and 180 TQ to the wheels.
I'd like to learn more about the differences between the Mitsubishi 15G and 18G turbos. Can the 15G from the SOHC kit coupled with a B series HKS manifold help me reach my goals and if so at what boost pressure? If the 15G is too small even if the internal wastegate is removed then what gains can I get from the 18G? I've looked for specs on these turbos to no avail so any practical information would be great.
I'd also like some information on the internal wastegate, what it does, how it can be removed, and what you gain by removing it if possible.
I also plan to run Hondata and need to know if 440 injectors can handle my power needs or if I need larger injectors.
Any information would be helpful especially from Greddy Turbo Owners. Also this is for a street car, no drag strips. I'd like a greddy setup that spools fairly fast but holds boost in the midrange through the gears.
Any setup recommendations would be great.
Thanks.

Re: Greddy Turbo Information Needed...Practical Advice Wanted... (miyo)
I'd rather stick with the 18g vs. 15g especially when it's mated on a high revving motor such as the B18C. I wish it's that easy to find compressor maps about these turbos so you can compare cfm's and will easily give you a better understanding when power is concerned.
To me, I'm sticking with the internal wastegate. It's just as good as the external and is less maintenance as long as you don't go overbored on it's capabilities.
That's the definition of the TD05.

Re: Greddy Turbo Information Needed...Practical Advice Wanted... (DB8GSR)
On 2.0 engine @15 psi,
the TD05-16G flows 505 cfm
the big 16G flows 550 cfm
the 18G flows 600 cfm
and IIRC, the 20G flows 650 cfm.
I think the 18G is a good choice.

dont waste time with the sohc greddy turbo. the greddy gsr turbo kit is suited very nicely for it. not much lag and you wont run out of steam. for high boost applications the sohc greddy turbo is actually a little too small.
