Greddy or Custom setup
Hey Im looking to turbo my 98 gsr. I live in cali so the only legal way is the Greddy Kit, which I hear is disapointing for the price =/. I was thinking of putting together a custom kit, and converting from OBD2 to OBD1 and using Hondata s300. My questions are is it a difficult task when it comes smog time? Or would I simply be able to plug in the old ecu, remove the turbo, manifold, intercooler, injectors and put everything stock on? then after just put all the turbo parts back in? Also, say a cop pops my hood. What happens when nothing is CARB legal? Fix it ticket? or what? Thanks just have a few questions. I realize the greddy might be easier, but it doesn't make the power I want which is around 250-260whp. Thanks if you can help with some of my concerns.

your in cali, i would suggest trying to atleast stay OBD2 for your sake. make a custom kit, and just use the emanage, you'll have alot of problems with Johnny law in the future if you switch back to OBD1.

but is the emanage even good? I hear its not that great... and is it even that bad to switch back every 2 years for smog? I can see this being the only time to have to worry about being obd1... how would a cop know if I was obd1 or not?
