greddy bluebox
im making a custom turbo project and i want to use a greddy bluebox until i can get enough money to have my car tuned with turboedit... any bluebox users out there?
it says it is safe up to 7lbs of boost but i dont think i would be going over 5.5, for those of you out there using a bluebox post your setups.
mine is...
d16a6, 135k
std manifold
t3 turbo .42 .48
6inch FMIC
dsm 450cc
2.5/3 charge pipes
2.5 downpipe
bov
now all that is left is management.....

It is a piggybacked piggy back; You can run this, but will it be tuned, well, NO..
but if you are using it as a crutch until the real thing arrives and you have no other options, yes it will work..So can it be done: yes should it be done: no..
Although if you do not understand a lot about tuning and fuel maps, I wouldn't tempt this..
I ran 440's and a blue box just to prove someone wrong before as to the ability of the GReddy kit (I am a machinist and therefore can accept the consequences without monetary damage
).. Ended up with a 1/4 trap speed of 115mph on street tires and 9psi on an LS/VTEC setup lol.. Mind you this is a very untuned setup that would be ugly on the street (bucky and such)..
But again, if you aren't saavy to tuning and you are new to the turbo business (there is a lot into feeling the car and how its running since this is the ghetto'ed fuel tuning, then I'd say don't do it..

would i be better off running a chipped pm6 with a turboedit basemap? i dont really plan on boosting over 5psi until i have a professional tune it.

i think it depends on which blue box you have. I have a bue box from a 92-95 civic ex greddy kit and I think it uses the stock injectors. If it is a 99-00 civic si kit blue box I think they kit comes with 310cc injectors. somebody correct me if Im wrong.

i know there are sohc and dohc versions of the bluebox, but is there obd0,1, and 2 versions or does it not matter? because im running obd0 right now and the person im getting the bluebox from so far only knows it came off a sohc motor...
I dont know if they made an obd 0 box. I think I wired up my friends obd2 civic years ago with a greddy blue box from an obd1 car. I just had to find all the pinouts on the obd2 car. It ran ok from what I can remember.

yes, the blue box is ONLY for the 310s they were programmed for.

the OBD 0,1,2 doesnt matter.
at only 5 psi, just take your chances with an fmu+missing link set-up. the blue box will run you rich! (rich for a reliable tune from greddy for their turbo kit) good luck to you.
