Re: GREDDY or AUTOMETER? (BoostedCivic94)
most people will probably recommend greddy over autometer, as many are witnesses to autometers frequent inaccuracies. for me personally my autometer has been pretty accurate so far and is a good cheap alternative, but i would like to try out some better quality gauges to see how they do. if u can afford it go with the more quality brand. if not, autometer or vdo are affordable alternatives

For sure Greddy, electrical vs. mechanical. Much higher quality, but I personally like Apexi and Defi. Might want to check them out.
My $0.02
My $0.02

Re: (00SilverLS)
the only problems i see with the GReddy stuff is that it's all metric, my redneck *** can't try to convert that **** all the damn time while i'm driving down the road..... i guess i'd get used to it after a while though
oh, and since i'm about to sepnd nearly $700 on more Autometer guages and they are cheaper... DAMN, i'd go broke trying to apy for them, plus, NASCAR uses Autometer stuff, so it's good enough to me

Ditto. I have Greddy...My buddy just got the Defi gauges he hasn't got them in yet but we have heard nothing but great things about em. I am sure lots or peeps are going to suggest Defi or Greddy here. My experience with Autometer...

sure nascar uses autometer.. but they only have to turn one way...
Greddy if you can afford it, autometer if you cant. Autometer guages tend not to be the most fast reacting/ real accurate.. But they work

Can we get into more details of why so many are putting Autometer down? Do you guys have personal experience with them failing? And for those that say its inaccurate, what are you measuring these gauges with to claim that?

i've owned 2 autometer boost gauges, both ultralite silver supposedly the same that nascar uses. they read very different on the same car. most of the issue is from the zero setpoint. this gauge reads 2" lower or 1-1.5 psi lower than the last gauge.
i bet you the NASCAR guys get gauges that are screened for accuracy and quality. we get the rest.

I would go with greddy...however autometer does have a line of quality sweeping guages now called the cobalt series. expensive but very well engineered

Re: GREDDY or AUTOMETER? (Smoothy)
I had two autometer boost gauges both sat different, one above and one below zero, and both the needles feel off so to autometer. Also had a autometer egt had some issues with it too. But i've had Greddy's for half a year and only from them.
