Yes the head is pretty bad...
The intake side should not be polished... leaving it rough allows the fuel to atomize more evenly
You need more material around the edges of the ports, especially for FI, to allow for a proper seal....
And there is so much material removed that it is likly that coolant will leak and flood your engine...

endyn does incredible looking work. adding material to the head is nuts.

i just got off the phone with chuck norris. i explained to him that the b series head went out of production in 2001 and showed him these pictures. from this point forward, chuck norris will kill a mexican baby everytime someone destroys a b-series head. so be careful, you dont want that on your conscience.

Yes, the fuel will be coming out of the injectors at higher pressure, so it will still spray and coat the walls of the ports. With the rough finish it allows the air to help grab the fuel.
With smooth surface walls it will stay on the walls and the air will just rush over it...
Put some water on a glass surface and spray compressed air at it.... some will spray into the air but most of it will just roll along the surface

Cu in 9 sec buddy....lol

and nice block gaurd for 700 hp ..</TD></TR></TABLE>

Dont really know how I got brought into this thread...lol! Atleast I do know when to STOP taking material out of the head. But anyways...Im sure when he dropped the head off to get PnP he didnt really know what to expect and was just told prior to paying that he would get the best PnP and thats what he belived. For some people thats all they have to hear and they buy it. Guess you live and learn. As far as the eGay TB and intake...I would NOT trust that TB at all. Who knows how many parts will fly out of that. BUT the intake manifold might hold 15psi if he is lucky. And for that price I wouldve just spent a little extra and purchased a Full-Race or GE one that has been dyno proved time and time again. Or just buy a Edelbrock one for a little over 300 bucks.

All I can say is GOODLUCK with the build and I hope you hit the hp you want EVENTUALLY...after a little test and repair/replace.
