Gonna wire up WB to ECU harness, can I wire in my gauges to the ECU also?
Hi guys,
I'm gonna solder in my Zeitronix ZT2 signal harness into my OBD 0 to OBD 1 conversion harness. I was gonna use the ECU as my ignition switch and ground source for the zt2 controller. But I was also wondering if I could use the ECU harness as the source for my 12V switched power source and ground for my gauges?
From what I've read on my OBD1 P28 pin A25 is the ECM power, and A26 is ground. It was either do this or use fuse taps and tap into my fuse panel for switched power and run it to the chassis for ground.
EDIT: also I need switched power and ground for my Autometer oil pressure gauge and Nordskog Temp gauge.
What do you guys think?
TIA

i wired my wideband up to my p28.it plugs up to a db9 connector mounted to the side of my ecu case .im going by the way the pinouts read inside the ecu so if your going from the harness it probably will be different
a13 is a 12v source (switched on)
a2 is a ground
d15 is 5v wideband input

uhhh, isn't D15 the IAT? according to what the FSM, Snail Tuning, and pretty much everybody else has said D14 is the wire the WB goes to.
And I'm sure there is more then one ground and ignition switched wire on the ECM, but my point is can I wire in my wideband controller and my gauges to the ECU wires? I dont need to know which pins to use, I need to know if I can hook up more stuff the to ECU pwr and gnds.
I have a OBD 0 to OBD1 conversion harness, but as long as I tap the wire going into the correct pin location, shouldn't I be ok?
Thanks

like i said the pinouts are different if you arent looking inside the ecu case and i never said those were the only ground or power sources.wether you do it inside the ecu or at the harness it will work just the same

I would pull the power for your gauges from a different source than your ECU and ground to the chassis. IMO the ECU needs a nice constant power supply, no need to leech power from it.
