Going turbo soon!!! questions with build up
Some dude is talking me into going LS turbo instead of GSR all- motor. i like the idea of going pssssshhht, must be the flip in me. what would you guys recommend as far as internals would go. i was so set up with going all motor that my mind was set on HIGH CR's instead of LOW CR's. now i am pretty new at this turbo biz. the guy told me to just get LS and then a turbo kit. was looking at the greddy kit. any thoughts about that? the car it's going into is a 97 cx. id really like to get some pointers on this. i looked into the search but there was like 3 things about boosting an LS. i have like a million questions that i know only you guys can answer. OHHH before i forget, i want this thing to be daily driven / race so any helpful suggestions are welcome, flames to i guess( i dont know why though)

well what questions do you have?
I would recomend either the revhard or drag kit....I personally don't care to much for the greddy kit...
max-rev is having a sale now also...good price

hmm.like what would be an excellent setup as far as internals go. i was always set on type r ish but now i guess thats out of the question. i guess questions like:
pistons?
cams?
can you still use a skunk2 intake manifold?
walbro fuel pump ok?
def bigger cc injectors right?
what wastegate?
bov is pretty universal size right?
drag really that good?
revhard and drag just straight bolt on?
like i said i know pretty much close to nothing about turbos let alone know what parts to put. i just want to do this thing right the first time. i like drag racing but im only going for 13's no biggie really. just want top be able to smoke the occassional ricer.. no matter what they drive.
also for gauges: boost and EGT should be fine right?
hondata good for turbo? will it really make that big of a difference w/ FI?
t3/t4 so if i want to upgrade later right?
will need 3" exhaust piping right?
will i be able to pass emmissions with a ll these?
or can i just tune the fuel so i can pass?
wheew, asking questions is rough. im sure i have other questions out there.
can i email somebody to help me out who has possible done this to their car. LS Turbo's out there

don't neglect your Crankcase ventillation!!! An air pump is almost required on a boosted motor for your engine seals to survive. (front main, rear main, valve cover etc..)
you'll gain a % gain in hp, too. (small but increases as total HP increases)

tried to answer a few of your questions , hope it helps

oilpressure gauge is always good
hondata good for turbo? will it really make that big of a difference w/ FI?
tuning is #1 for turbo . the hondata will work great
will need 3" exhaust piping right?
yes , or when you race u can just disconnect your downpipe from the rest of your exhaust and run off of that
will i be able to pass emmissions with a ll these?
good luck
