Default going turbo d16y8

Hey guys hows it going im new to the site and to hondas im in the process of doing a turbo setup on my wifes 97civic ex with the d16y8 the car has high miles 208,000 . I picked up a good turbo off a wrecked volvo 850 its a 15g so it should spool good shouldnt it ? I have done another turbo setup in the past but i have had a brain injury since then so my memory is spotty . I need to know what all im going to need to do this setup ive read that acura rdx injectors work good but i cant find any around here anywhere is there any others i can use without much modification? Also what needs to be done to thd computer i built a Megasquirt ecu for my last car i hated it im hoping this car will be less difficult . Im planning on doing most of the fab work myself i have access to a welder and pipe bender . Any input would be helpful im trying to keep this setup as cheap as possible im on a very tight budget . Thanks kenny

Junkyards (which you mentioned). Ebay. Craigslist. Not looking hard enough really. Good luck on your "build".
Also, you need to start searching the internet for your resources. You are NOT the first person to try and boost your car with no money.

For instance.

ur boosting a motor you could swap an LS/SiR with a b16 trans and laugh out loud at how much better it is. then boost that. i wouldnt even take a D16 past 6000rpm those rods like to fly out of the block more often than not.

good luck

Im not looking for a full blown race car right now my wife is pregnant and im the only one working thats why i say tight budget and its also our only form of transportation so it has to be reliable maybe later down the rd we can do a swap after we have the baby and get back caught up. Right now im just looking for something mild to play around with

your priorities arent right imho. turboing a honda isnt going to be cheap because there are the unknown unknowns that do occur. people on a budget, whatever that means, always say i dont want a full blown drag car. little do they know they require basically the same parts and care. reliability is what everyone wants but even the best at the game still have issues, so you have to be prepared for the worst of the worst aka the unknown uknowns. your not ready for boost, your ready to have a baby.

Unlike most of the ppl on here i have actually built a turbo car before and that was on a budget also i built the whole thong from scratch for under $ 400 using megasquirt it ran great it was just a pain in butt to tune i may use the same setup on this car . im building the manifold now it should be finished this evening.

I think this site is more suited to the type of build you're trying to pull off.
