Going ball bearing question
Hey all, it has been a long time since I have been on this forum but I have a quick question. I am looking to get a little bit of a more usable powerband out of the stock block B16 turbo project of mine. Its a basical stock bottom end, shorty mani, t3/to4e .63 a/r 60 trim @ 10 psi set-up. I am looking to upgrade to a ball bearing unit that is close to the 60-1 range. Basically quicker spool and a slight upgrade in flow. What should I go with, GT3076R or GT35R? I obviosly don't want something that is too big. I am running it up to 8500rpm. Thanks in advance.

GT30 should do you good. What are your power goals? Full-Race has tech articles wth dyno graphs to help you decide between GT turbos.

Re: Going ball bearing question (RevTek 6)
well for now I will be sticking to 10-11psi or 350 whp. However this winter I will going sleaved, rods, pistons etc and will be shooting for the mid 400's or even close to 500. I only have a tial 38 but I do have a huge fmic and 2.5" IC piping so we will see what I can do with what I have. Does anyone remember what the rule of thumb is for boosting above the wastegate spring pressure. I have a .7 bar spring I think so I forgot how far it is safe to raise it with an MBC before I need to up the spring. Thanks.

Re: Going ball bearing question (yellowhonda88)
i would recommend gt2871 for up to ~400 whp and a really nice powerband.
if you want to shoot closer to 500, get the gt30. It can support high 400's no problem.
gt35 will be too big imo.
as far as the wg question, you can usually go double the rate of the WG spring before you run into problems.
