GM 3 Bar install, random engine light, no ECU codes
Info on the car
1990 civic w/ PM6 ecu chipped running turboedit 3.1.7. TE setup for 3 bar. (though this might be a software issue im just not sure)
Threw the 3 bar in, was doing some tuning, cell came up... shut down, turned key back to ON, no light code on the ECU... weird i thought... no ecu cell on the dash anymore either
light comes back on in the dash, pop it into neutral give the gas a blip and the Engine light turns off... ok.... seems to come on at LOW LOW throttle.
did it again to me this morning driving into tim hortons... lol. blip the gas in neutral and it clears itself.
no codes ever flash up on the ECU, just the check engine light in the dash HUD.
car runs and drives fine when this happens.. its strange.
any ideas?
would a colder solder joint do this without throwing a map sensor code?
im out of ideas at the moment
forgot to mention, been driving the car DD for 8 months with the stock 1.8 bar map sensor with no issues and no check engines lights, ever.

Re: GM 3 Bar install, random engine light, no ECU codes (welfarepc)
the HUD engine light seems to come on almost at random... blip of the throttle clears the light... no codes from the ECU
there was a T that was connected to the stock map sensor with a line going to a plug... i removed that. could that missing resonator cause my problems? i cant find the thing
right now the map sensor is setup with one vacuum line going directly from the TB to the GM 3 bar. anyone else run like this without problems?
anyone tried TE 3.1.7 with a 3 bar?
any ideas are welcome, ANY.

There are actually several GM style 3 bar sensors on the market plus numerous copies and even sensors that say they are 3 bar and are not. besides that check your wires and make sure you dont have any leaks in the vacuum line from the sensor to the manifold vacuum source. There are easier alternatives on the market like the Hondata 4 bar and Omnipower 3 and 4 bar that plug in and bolt on in the factory location with clearly defined calibrations supported in all honda aftermarket engine management software.
Its also possible that there is a problem with the sensor you have, it may have an internal leak that came about after it saw some pressure then vacuum. if it was leaking it would surely cause idle problems.

omni makes a direct swap for a obd0 style map sensor? <- shoulda been a pm.. ignore please.
and the answer to that pm is no. lol

and after another PM the answer is YES! so anyone who needs wall mounted 3 bar can PM omniman.
now, can anyone confirm if TE 3.1.7 can use a GM 3 bar sensor successfully? I notice the option is "3.0 Motorola" in the drop down menu. might this be the source of my problems?
