Default Ghetto underhood IC ?

My friend has a greddy that had a galant VR-4 Ic with it.. He swapped the IC out to a 1G dsm one for more flow and better cooling..

I was going to run my car non-intercooled for a while till I got my factory stealth TT ICs out and get them welded together with custom end tanks..

BUT..
I noiced that there is "straight away" of pipe under the hood where I could move my battery to the truck, and stick this galant IC.. I IC piping was made before he gave me the IC..

DO you guys think it is worth it to install ? Its gotta restrict some air flow b/c its kinda a poor design, and its going to be under hood if I even install it.. I wasn't planning on running a lot of boost ( via TD04L-13G wrx ), but do you guys think I should just hook it up non-intercooled or stick the galant VR-4 IC in ??

I have two stock 1G dsm SMIC, but they are for my stealth ( my stealth ones are slightly smaller, but worth swapping ).. That leaves me with 2 extra smaller ICs, that can for sure support AT LEAST 300hp, that I can have welded togther for one bigger FMIC.. I have no a/c or front bumper brace so space isn't a issure for the modded stealth ICs...
Here's a pic of the galant IC.. ummm, maybe not, I forgot I can't load pics on this forum..

dont see the use of underhood unless u have a scoop. with time its just gonna start to heatsock and rob u of power. i'd rather have a smic externally with smooth clean piping than a hacked top mount. just my opinion

I had one under the hood at one point. It looks sweet under the hood(great for rice points) but it heat soaked like a bitch. I think it was hurting me more than helping.

I think you missed what I was asking... I already have the piping done for Non-intercooler boost, but this IC would go right where a section of piping is ( so its not a big deal to install ), just wondering is non-intercooled 5psi would be better than intercooler/heat soaked 5psi..

The DSM SMIC isn't a option right now b/c the piping is already built for non-ICed..
