get ready to laugh guys, i got home from the track!!!
right, remember this is the 1st time i have ever gone and run at a track so don't rip on me too bad. well i've come to see that i need to ditch the blue box on this greddy kit in favor of injectors and fmu. my best run was my first out of 3. it was a 16.0, how bad is that. no traction whatso ever. i am running 7psi too!!!
r/t... 1.111
60'... 2.453
1/8... 10.501
1/4... 16.003
mph... 90.34
the svt truck ran a 16.188, then the mustang gt, newer model went15.4 and a last gen maxima went 15.8. i think something is wrong w/ my motor also. i never got the comp. checked or a leak down test either. um......other than that,it has 91k miles on it and they are hard miles, but it is a honda. so guys i think this is real bad, i was hoping for at worst a low 15 at best high 14. something else is wrong other than my launches i think. what should i havfe checked out or should i just sell the kit and car? im thinking of a 240 and sr20det. any other #'s from fellow 6th gen greddy owners would be sweet. thnkas

not good. well, since its your first time... its an exception. you should be hitting higher times, though. if nothing is wrong with your setup... hit the track again... get used to it. if your times are still too high.. then you know what the problem is. good luck.

Where'd u go.....New England Dragway.....if you did, that track sucks first of all and it was really cold tonight, so traction was a bitch.

well im gonna dyno too sometime too see what my #'s are there. i wanna get some nitto drag radials too. if i cant get my times down w/ this setup im going to a 240. i think i'm gonna ditch my blue box too. i have a vortech 12:1 fmu and a missing link here. i tihnk if i get a 8:1 dick and some injectors and a msd btm unit i should be alright. how do i do the math for the fuel? if i use an 8:1 fmu and 330 injectors would that be fine? then i would get a head gasket and maybe block guard

I think something is wrong with your motor. You should be trapping at at least 92-94 mph at 5.5psi.

Believe me- slicks and traction are a HUGE factor in 1/4 mile times. I ran through the traps at 96 mph with a time of 15.0 running 8 psi on a H22a 00' Lude(of course spinning through the ENTIRE 2nd gear didn't help much), but yeah, a car's potential time and actual time are 2 different worlds(those worlds are separated by traction, not power)
Theory hardly ever matchs reality.
In theory, I should be running high 11's with traction- but I'd be lucky to break into the 12's on street tires.

Traction is everything! Went to the track the other night with my friends 600 hp Supra. His best time was a 12.2 BUT @ 124 mph!
He doesnt have his slicks or ET streets yet and all runs were make on his 19" Pirelli P-Zero's. He wasnt getting traction until 4th gear! It was kinda cool seeing him go sideways up until the 1/8 mile though

Re: get ready to laugh guys, i got home from the track!!! (clean)
ive run a best of 15.3 @90.36mph
this is with a pos boost controler that spikes at 7psi and drops back down to 5.5 psi
soon ill be in the 14's
i noticed you have a walbro255lph pump, u may be running way to rich, cause the blue box and pump dont mix....u shouldnt need it...
just my humble .000002

Re: get ready to laugh guys, i got home from the track!!! (2000EX)
i have almost the same set up as you. 97 honda civic ex with 130k stock motor running 5psi with vortec fmu with stock fuel pump. i ran a 00 civic si and he beat me well we did not have much track to race on. (******* parking lot) i spun my tires all through first and most of second and clutch slips in second (stock clutch). so i dont doubt you ran 16's. you just need to work on your launches, and check your compression too just to make sure. if you have a 2k how did you get almost a 100k miles on it

Re: get ready to laugh guys, i got home from the track!!! (CovertFI)
I ran my 2000 civc when i had the ex motor and the greddy kit at 7psi and i hit a constant 14.7 at 97mph all the time. I also had toe intercooler, motor mounth inserts, and act 6-puck. I think thats all i had then, but i had no problem pulling on a 2000si, I had raced a few type-r's a won with them. I ran on 17inch enkie shoguns and yokohama tires. The kit is very good for the amount of power it adds to the d16. I love the kit untill i raced my friends 16a integra witha drag2 kit, not a good race. I sold my turbo kit 2 days later and went on the search for a b16a. Just figured i would share this with ya.

Re: get ready to laugh guys, i got home from the track!!! (clean)
i had no black box, i just had a vafc and a missing link. tunned it by my but dyno, and took it to the track. I also found that if i shifted a few hundred rpm before red line that i got better times. i dunno why, maybe the power drops of. also the temp outside was about 60degress, Oh i live in north dakota. hope this helps
