gearbox selection

Re: gearbox selection
I currently have a GSR tranny on my LS/Vtec that will eventually be turbo. For driving around town its not bad. The low gearing helps with the lack of big power. However, I do drive my car home and highway driving is sometimes painful for the low reving LS/V....
With a B16, I think it would work well. They rev higher and the GSR tranny would help the lack of bottom end torque. I think a B16 box being so short would not be the best choice for a higher power setup.....
I personally am going LS only because I am limited by revs and do a fair amount of highway driving.....

Re: gearbox selection
wut kinda LS/v are u talking about because all of mine revved to 8200, jus like B16's and GSR's do.
Shorter gears=faster acceleration=b16 good drag trans
The GSR box is a good compromise between the b16 and LS for the street

Re: gearbox selection
surely a closer ratio box with a high power street car your going to get some traction problems?
i would of thought a GSR box would be better on street then a b16 box.
