GE Vacuum Manifold quick question
I got the GE manifold a while back, got all the fittings, 1/8" NPT to 1/8" hose from mcmaster-carr.
went to like 8 local hardware stores, and can't find the T I need to tee off the brake booster.
I got the 1/2" hose for the a/2" fitting on the side of the GE manifold, so does anyone know a T that will T off the brake booster for the stock hose and have one size for a 1/2" so it fits the GE manifold?
this is a pic of the 1/2" fitting on the manifold

Re: (Cruiser G)
can u be more specific? wouldnt I need to have another fitting on the other side then? instead of the cap?
and the stock brake booster hose doesnt seem to be wide enough to go over the 1/2" fitting suplied....
if you have can you post pics and sizes of fittings used...
thanks

i found a white plastic "T" at home depot. i think its like 3/8 in. its a little smaller then the one that come off the ge mani but it fits perfect for the brake booster line.

I don't know what auto parts stores you have in your area, but I got a plastic T from Pep Boys that works great for the brake booster T. I know Autozone has them too. But, that would be a last resort if I were in your shoes(I do not have the GE vac block). I'd try to find another fitting for the other end if you are not comfortable with the one you have now.
Remember, you can always try http://www.bakerprecision.com, http://www.anplumbing.com, or http://www.racerpartswholesale.com for fittings. Not sure if they are there, but it'd be worth a try.

Re: GE Vacuum Manifold quick question (mskibbz-T)
I installed mine the other day(not GE but same ****)
Anyways the T I used was a brass "T" from Ace hardware size = 3/8 $5.50
3/8 was the biggest T they had so I went with that. It fit nicely in the line, but not supersnug so I guess the next size up would work, but I remember I passed on using the 1/2" fitting off the box because 1) they didndt have a matching sized T and 2) it looked way too big
So I used a 3/8 T and a 3/8 barbed fitting on the box and ran steel braided line from the T to the box.

No, you can run it off any vacuum source, the brake booster just provides a powerful source due to the large diameter hose. You could achieve the same results by tapping the IM with a 3/8" barb and use that to power the vacuum log. It's just far easier for people to tap a hose than to tap the manifold if the engine is already in the car. Some aftermarket IMs have additional vacuum ports that you could use to power a vacuum log as well. It would appear to me that multiple smaller lines could power a vacuum log comparably to a single larger source. The gist of what I am saying is, no, vacuum logs do not require you to tap the brake booster but it is often the most convenient way to achieve a good vacuum source.

This is what i Used and it fit fine, make sure and get someof those small clamps too , you'll need a four of those. I used a total of (4), 3 on the T, and then one on the inlet fitting to the box. If you'd like I can emial you pics of mine installed

pics would be kool, deadlock23@aol.com is the email.
i just got the 3/8" T the 1/2" hose fits but too lose, so the clamps should solve that i hope.
now I need 1/8" by 1/8" hose barb fittings, but no one has that size, so I'm gonna have to order them from mcmaster-carr....
