Gauges to monitor boosted engine??
ok guys i figured out (with the help of everyones input) that im going with the prosport gauges. Another question i have though is ... im torn between two boost controllers. The greddy profec B II or the Gizzmo MS-IBC. i have heard a ton of good things about the greddy boost controller, but the gizzmo i haven't really heard anything... can you guys fill me in on whats better?

Man U FTW
I still run with only a boost guage. I might step it up and get an oil pressure one as well. I'm not a big fan of having 25 gauges in the cabin, so i trust that things are fine and my tune is spot on. So far, that's working out for me

yeah i was reading that the more gauges the better, but like you said i dont want all those gauges in the cabin haha. I was thinking boost, oil pressure, EGT, and fuel pressure would be good.

Gauges are all personal preference. I use a Boost,EGT,Oil Pressure, & Wideband. I dont really think anything else is necessary. Again....IMO. I would say at minimum that you should have a boost gauges and wideband.

boost/egt/wb02/watertemp/oilpress.
All in 2 5/8" ofcourse, if you get creative and make something custom you can mount them nicely without the pillar pod style which i find clutters up the drivers compartment!

Re: (HamiltonRex)
those sounds perfect i was looking into fuel pressure but its not really needed, Wb02 and water temp would be more appropriate as stated. i figured out where to put 3 of them, but the other two i dont know lol. the three are gonna go in the radio din where im gonna make a nice face to hold them in.

Sounds a little scary. I run Boost, Oil pressure, Water Temp. (my stock gauge is broke and I never trusted them anyway), and I have my W.B. reading through my turbo timer( that's really all I use my TT for).

oil pressure, oil temp, boost and wideband gauges. IMO boost, oil pressure and wideband is great insurance on how your motor is running, i'd feel like i was driving blind in a turbo car without them

hondata is great but when ya wanna save money there are other options out there. Look into eCtune before you devote yourself to hondata. There should be a pretty long thread lurking around somewhere on here about it.

The reason I was asking which EMS you were gonna be using is because i was going to reccomend using the PWM boost controller along with the hondata. You just get your ecu chipped for it when you get it chipped with the hondata which is about $60 and then you buy a boost solenoid to go along with it which is anywhere from 65-100 depending on which one you go with. Its the best bang for the buck and a great tool since it can be used as a regular boost controller along with boost by gear controller too.

if you have the money, then i would say inaddition to the bare essentials like oil pressure, wideband, and boost; temp gauges are a good investment. i foudn that the honda temp gauge is not all that accurate haha
