gauge pod/bezel quality?
I was looking into getting the autometer gauge bezel for my civic, but then I cam across this one and it is about half the price. Its made by superhightechnologies and I was wondering how the quality compares to that of the autometer one. Any experiences are greatly appreciated.

Re: gauge pod/bezel quality? (Pfieffdog)
looks the same to me.
i bought the autometer one.. not too expensive that i remember. my only complaint: see that little tab on the bottom with a hole in it?
well first you have to drill into a piece of metal under your speedo/tach gauges to mount a bracket. that wasn't TOO hard.. but once everything is in, you're supposed to put a locknut over the stud (on said bracket) that goes through that little hole.
let's just say it's been two months and i have yet to figure a way to do it.
you can't fit a socket, nutdriver, or anything else between the bezel and your steering column.
good news is i have yet to hear any squeeks or rattles. nothing moves just by snapping in the top and having that stud push firmly on the top of the hole it goes in (does that explaination help??)
anyway, it's beautiful looking. everyone who doesn't know better asks if it's factory. kicks a-pillars' ***!

Ntrpriz, this related to forced induction because I would hope that you would want to monitor your vitals when running boost and you need to look at gauges for that. Just an idea.

naw. the only thing you can't see is the temp needle when the car is cold, i.e. just after starting it. but who needs to see that? once it starts to warm up, you see the needle just fine
pillar pods? they are very obtrusive. hard to see around.

Looks like the autometer bezel. I was completely satisfied with the autometer one and it fit fine. I thought it would be a simple bezel and keep my gauges on the downlow, but my car was stolen...so eh. I like the carbon fiber piece though.
