Default garrett turbo

i recently bought a used garrett turbo. theres the oil feed line and then theres the oil return line. but i'm trying to figure out what the other two holes are i know one is a vaccum but i'm not sure what the other one is for. the oil lines and these two holes are between the compressor and the exhaust housing. i dont know if i made any sense but can someone please help me figure out my problem. thanx in advance

yea they are for coolant, oil and coolant are the only holes that *should* be in the cartrage of the turbo. good luck

you dont have to plug them up, the coolant and oil passages in the turbo are seperated.

yes it will be safe. coolant is just to cool the turbo, let the car idle for about 2 minutes after you drive it and it will be fine without coolant

Why would you not want to use the coolent lines??? If you have them use them its not hard to setup. A cooler turbo is always better, but then again its up to you, it wont hurt your turbo but the way i see it is it doesent hurt you using it either

if i were you id go and run some lines to the cartridge
i spoke to garrett recently at springnationals at englishtown and asked if it was 100% neccesaryy to use the water cool fittings.
from what they told me, on smaller turbos...like straight t3s and down....the turbo is spinng so much that the standard oiling of the unit is no enough. basically he said it gets so freaking hot in there that you can damage the turbo. thats just what he said.
i would run em..it cant hurt

Just run your coolant lines through the turbo,
Use the line that comes from your rad to the motor, but go to the turbo, then to the motor on hold is in, the other is out, it is simple.. Better to have a COOL turbo then one that is too hot, U willl gain more out of it this way also. U could also get a intercooler and set up..
