If it's not a ball bearing turbo it can be replaced. It'll need to be rebalanced though, so your best bet is to send it off to a repair centre.

True. I was under the assumption that it was ball bearing. Long day.

Why do turbos need to be balanced in the first place, if every wheel is the same? There's obviously a weight range within tolerances for every wheel. A different of a few fractions of a gram becomes a massive amount of weight imbalance when you're spinning a turbo at 100 thousand RPM's. But Garrett can't make every single wheel to be perfectly balanced because A) They are going to be paired up with different shafts and turbine wheels and B)Ensuring every wheel itself was spot on instead of balancing the whole assembly would be much less cost effective.

Compressor wheels are usually staticly balanced, but relatively roughly. They also have to balance it with your turbine wheel after mating them. They can't fully balance a turbine wheel alone, because there isn't any removable material on one end. W/o rebalancing it, you'll ruin the bearings after a few thousand miles, if not before one hundred.

Some places will just balance the turbo on a VSR maching, I recall seeing one recently for $60. More than likely the same place will be able to get you a wheel AND torque it properly for a decent price. Expect ~$100-150 for a non-chinese compressor wheel.

theres a huge difference between those 2 turbos!!

and like i told you, just send it to blaast performance if you want to keep it, its your cheapest option and will make 430+whp
