garret 35r bb help
whats up everyone. i am running a 35r on my topmount set up. my cold side is .70ar and a 1.06ar hot side. i will be driving this car on the streets pretty often. Been hearing that people havent been running the water lines and seem to have no problems with there turbos. was wondering if anyone could chime in and let me know what they are running. water lines or no water lines ? and what turbos they have. and where the water lines are ran from

Re: garret 35r bb help
Run the water lines, please. Unlike some other Garrett models that have an optional cartridge, you need those water lines so that the heat created by the friction of the ball-bearing cartridge can be dissipated.
those that do not run water lines are typically shops doing a series of tests and can afford to destroy one or two units. That does not make it ok for the average person to do so as well. You will also void any warranties associated with that turbo if something goes wrong.
You got the GT35R, so now live with the responsibility of using the correct equipment.

I'm new to the boost game but I've read to get couplers and weld a fitting to that coupler and split the radiator hoses and hook up your water inlet and outlet from there!.......Not sure if thats correct or if it helps

i really dont think there a "wrong" way to do it. the water pump should be circulating the coolant regardless or where you run the lines. IMO the best way is to use the B&R setup, super clean.
