Default g-tech pro ss

has anyone tried this out or know anyone that has actually tried it? they say it can read rpms thru the cigarette lighter port...i guess it would be tru or they wouldnt say so...so supposedly it can polt a pretty accurate dyno graph because it can now figure torque, and has an upgraded sensor from the original gtech. could be pretty usefull if its any accurate

I used to own one. I sold it tho. I found it to be a major pita to set it up right. it's queit hard to set it firm where it doesn't move and throw readings off. so on soem runs it'll read 350hp. whiel on anotehr run it'll read 250hp. stuff like that.

the key features I did liek tho were:

stage shift light
blue screen with tach :D lol
and even tho the hp/tq readings coudl be 100 or 1000 off. the overall CURVE was always the exact same. so in turn. I fonud this more useful fortunnig my overall curve and seeing where it pulled better and where it didn't and played with my vtec point. Unfortunantly I do miss it as having the curve plotted otu for you was very useful.. no I have my butt dyno to street tune with my wideband etc.

"RPM's and shiftlights is what Tesla Electronics is particularly proud of. They have invented this technology. NO ONE in the world can pick up RPM's from the cigarette lighter port. "

How is this possible?

well you have to calibrate the system so your RPM's match up. They take your overall voltage output at whatever given RPM. they tell you to set it up in 2 steps.. hold say 2000RPM and hit ok. same thing but at 5000RPM. this gives the GTECH a pretty accurate figure of what your voltage output is at those two RPM'S then make up the rest for the rpm's in between and aafter and before Very accurate actually.

just like the readings.. if it's not secure. you're values are off. but when it's set good. ti does read pretty consistant

here was a GTECH run that was pretty consistant with my other ones. Don't bother to read all the 1.4, 1/8 tiems etc as this was only a third gear run to measue third gear power.

I got one for xmas a couple of years ago. It was a fun toy, but tough try to calibrate on the ITR. I wouldn't waste money on it.
