Fully built GSR 545whp / 363tq @ 30psi WTF?
Here is the build
C-16
-Darton Sleeved 84mm block
-9:1 CP's minimal blow by 190 psi across the board
-GSR Head ported/polished - CTR intake cam, GSR exhaust Cam gears at 0,0
-Peakboost ramhorn
-T3/T67 H.O. P-Trim
-M&W Pro-10 ignition
-Walbro/Inline Bosch fuel pump setup / 1000ID, fuel lab 90psi base pressure
-Full 3" exhaust
-Precision 750 intercooler with 2.5" charge piping
Timing wasnt extreme but it wasnt very conservative either. I will post up the dyno chart once I get it scanned, but there were no hiccups or any sign of any issues. The dyno was an in ground dynojet.
Pump Gas - 408whp @ 17psi
C16 - 545whp @ 30psi
Something doesnt seem right. Tuners please chime in for opinions.

at 30 psi with my setup 545whp is not really nice numbers... something isnt right maybe the dyno is just reading stupid low

What type of dyno? If it was an eddy current Mustang dyno 545whp is pretty nasty. If you are familiar with Pinks All Out. Watch the Rockingham episode with the black CRX. His name is Jason Goforth, a few weeks before he only made 411whp on an eddy current dyno and went 10.42 @ 142 during Pinks.
Dont get so caught up in numbers, take it to the track.

i bet you could pick up 100+ whp with a set of skunk cams maybe some one else can chime in and tell you which set would work best
how high are you revving?
only thing i can think of with the info you gave us is you didn't rev it out, or possibly that cam combo isn't working the best
what made you decide to use that kind of combo anyway

those cams are just the ones i have had in there from the previous setup... i thought about that but I have seen guys making 700whp with those cams all over honda-tech so idk...

The cams are not the issue, if the dyno reads like other Dynojets the numbers are low IMO... I made 40hp/20tq more than you with 7psi less with GSR cams and the same turbo as you, but I was on a dynapack. The car went 137mph with 450-500whp so I think it was pretty accurate.

numbers do seem low for the boost, however, I am not that familiar with that turbo. what did you use to measure boost pressure? what was the timing at?

I dont really see an issue with the graph either, spool appears dead on for the Turbo.... did you check for boost leaks and what not? How many pulls did the tuner make on race gas?

Hey guys I was tuning the car. I too feel the power is low for that boost level...it was reading right at 28psi per the map sensor. I am pretty sure with some skunk2 cams and a t4 housing we could easily achieve our goals though. Also we were running an unknown mix of c16/93 that we threw in there last minute. I would like to see how it will do with straight c16. There were no hiccups or anything with the way it pulled on the dyno. The torque curve carries fairly well too.

several pulls were made... it just wasnt making power for some reason and come to find out it was 28 psi which still doesnt make me feel better about it lol

Re: Fully built GSR 545whp / 363tq @ 30psi WTF?
i made 490@28psi last year on a stock gsr motor with a t3/66
now im at 638@26psi on a 84.5mm motor with stock cams, and t4/67
im on e85 not q or c
you have some issue man

You shouldnt need a t4 housing on that turbo to make bigger numbers. What size t3 turbine housing are you currently running? To see the most potential out of that turbo you really need at least a .83 but id opt for the 1.06.

Re: Fully built GSR 545whp / 363tq @ 30psi WTF?
couple issues i see, maybe not on the dyno but on the street that manifold not being wrapped or coated is goping to cause some major heatsoak. and the fact that you have what looks to be a 3" intake pipe on the turbo when its clearely has a 4" inlet on a s cover is going to be a big restriction. if you arent running a/c you should always run the compressor on the other side as well so yoru not sucking in hot air off the radiator and so you can just slap on an air filter directly on the compressor housing instead of that restrictive contraption you have

i plan on putting the ac in... while i think the intake piping is in fact a part of the power loss i dont think thats the 100 horsepower loss that i was expecting added on my numbers.

Re: Fully built GSR 545whp / 363tq @ 30psi WTF?
Those numbers do seem pretty low for that turbo. I had nearly an identical setup, just 9.7:1 pistons. Made 530 on pump at 18psi. Then switched to Q16, made about 590 at 20psi... Then cranked it too 30lbs and made 700 with an ebay core. Turbo hit 40lbs, prolly would made well into the 700's if the IC was better
Forgot to add, I was using BLOX B's!

I do think if you remove the intake filter all together and let the turbo breathe you will be very suprised at the outcome
