do you guys think the full race stage 3 kit with the t67 will be to laggy on a ls motor with a piston/rod setup planning on running about 20psi of boost still...

t3t67ho with the .82 hot side on a stock crank'd b16 stage 3. it is a little laggy, but when it hits, instant tire smoke.

so well its spooling.. The car with the smaller turbo will hook up and have a gradual powerband and pull away, and then as soon as you make power it will spin.

Dude, go for a HP # not a boost #, want 400hp? Get something that will make you 400hp, you can overkill it a bit, but you dont need a 42R for 500hp (just using it as an example).

You want to make sure that your using the turbo efficently.

Just get some valve springs and its all good. I have a t3/t67 on a 1.6 liter and its not that bad just have to rev it out to stay in boost between shifts.

honestly, how much power are you looking to make? A lot of people (in my opinion) tend to use too large of a turbo for their application and while the car might be FAST, it isnt FUN. I prefer fast AND fun.

A stage 1 kit is a great option, as is the stage 2GT. both work REALLY well on an LS engine and can offer huige powerbands. The stage 1 can make just shy of 500whp, while the stage2GT can make close to 550 with the right top end setup

out of curiosity, why dont you want to use a VTEC head? VTEC makes a huge shift in the powerband, really is worth considering

the stage 3 kit was a steal price and its not the high output turbo and i have a b16 head about to get built and a full head job but wont be done until mid march so i was just wondering if there will be to much lag if im revving my motor to 8k

Im going to be running the Stage 3GT on my b16a setup. i have the upgraded 20x3x11 Full race backdoor intercooler (talk about baller setup)

i have almost the exact same build they show on the full race website with the 81.5mm bore 650whp stg 3gt setup.

definitly like one of the other post said, lag? who cares? i plan on using my car as a highway race.

ls transmission,lsd,pfispeed traction bar,stag 3 clutch,lightweight flywheel,yada tada

but right now my clutch setup is good for 450whp with it, and i am building the head, right now the head is ported & polished with 5 angle valve job, plan on building it all up..

major major project

full race is the way to go

got it dynoed today put out 372whp and 280 torque on 18-20psi couldnt tell how much boost it was running because gauge was going retarded and this was on pump gas... driving on the streets if your out of boost and you get on it feels like its going but then at around 5k-5.5k it feels the most laggy then after 5.5k it pulls very hard... i think if we would push the car a little bit harder with some advancement it could of hit 400 or shy of 400whp

no its not to low at all because with added timing i could of got about 390ish whp and plus my pistons are 8:5:1 compression so that is pretty low also but i decided to take out timing so it would be safer but over all i am very happy and ls/vtec is coming in about 2-3 weeks im hoping to hit 450whp on less boost levels also
