whats up guys. Just received the full race manifold i bought from Mpir3
I pulled out the autometer egt gauge i picked up a couple weeks ago and ran into a problem. The threded bung welded on the manifold isnt the same size as the nut on the egt probe. Any suggestions for me?
Heres some pics... really bad camera. TIA for any help

Go to the local hardware store and get an adapter. What pitch is the bung and what pitch is the nut? I may be able to help.(i.e. access to millions of adapters like this).

Just out of curiosity. Why is the EGT on the #3 cylinder port and not in the collector where all cylinders meet? Were you planning to run an EGT sensor for all 4 cylinders?
this is the best i can do right now. The bottom threads are 1/8" NPT which is what is supposed to go into the manifold and the nut on the prob threads onto the top threads. The threads that are on the manifold look exactly the same as the 1/8" NPT.

msmotorsports, ive have asked the same question, y put it on the number 3 cylinder. The best answer i have been given is that due to its location, cyl 3 runs the hottest, so you get the reading of the hottest cylinder.

Makes sense but can posssibly lead to false readings. Hopefully all works out well.

i havent heard anyone on here having a problem with it, and i think thats the way 90+% have them done

Yep, #3 runs the hottest so its the 'worst case scenario' so to speak...

I'll see what I can do tomorrow.
The nut is 6AN I imagine? So, I'll look for a 6AN male to 1/8 npt female adapter.

ummm sounds like a good guess....
how big of a deal would it be to have to use an adaptor which would pull the probe out of the runner (1/2" maybe)?
bump
the size of the one on the probe is 16mm. The nut part on the adapter is 14 mm
