Default fuel tank drain plug?

I don't know if this is a good idea but i have a 96 turbo integra and i was wondering if i can pull out the drain plug for the fuel tank, and stick a fuel fitting in there and run it to a aermotive A1000 pump. i will not run my fuel low. Do you think this will work and has anyone tried this as an alternative to sumping.
