Default Fuel pump now?

Would there be any negative effects to installing a high flow, high pressure Comptech in tank fuel pump before turbocharging? Thank you.

you pretty much need an inline fuel pump, unless you're using the greddy kit.

No Greddy kit for me, I will be putting together a custom T3 setup.

So why wouldn't one be needed w/ a Greddy kit.

The Greddy kit runs at low, stock-like fuel pressures compared to the demands of a rising rate regulator that need 100+psi on a daily basis.

Because the GReddy kit comes with an FCU (Fuel Control Unit) which fools the computer into running the 310cc injectors at stock-like fuel pressures. Thus, they do not supply the kit with a pump simply they don't think it's necessary

So the question remains. Do I need an inline pump to run at 5-6psi.

Come on guys. Somebody has the answer please tell me. Do I need an inline pump to run low boost?

Yes you will, along with a boost dependent regulator. Unless you stumble upon a GReddy FCU....

Think of it this way, with boost you must increase fuel. 2 ways of doing this, #1 is electronicaly, #2 is mechanicaly. The GReddy kit's handle this electronicaly with the use of their piggyback fuel unit that taps into the ECU altering it's readings and forcing the computer to add fuel when needed. If you don't have a piggyback unit or other electronic fuel managment unit (and I don't mean V-AFC's or the like), then you have to add fuel manually which is when you'll want a higher volume pump and FMU.

Ok, but will it hurt anything by installing a high flow fuel pump on a stock engine? That was my initial question, and it did not get answered. Thank you.
