Default Fuel pump/injector advice.

Right bit of randomn 1,

Myself and a friend have been building up a cheap civic for some drag fun to save beating on our own cars, not being built to suit any class as such just normal rwyb style racing over here in the uk.

We run a shop over here and always end up with lots of randomn parts left over from people's builds etc and get parts pretty cheap.

So we figured we would throw it all together and see what we can do.

The motor is a stock sleeve b18c .5mm over circa 9.8:1 wiseco's and eagle rods, with a crower crank the whole rotational components have been balanced (clutch/flywheel/crank/rods/pistons/bottom pulley) head is a p72 nicely polished and worked. We have made our own inlet manifold and am 85mm TB. We have built our own front facing manifold and managed to pick up a BW 366 (91-79) for a good price. Cams wise probably itr as a starting point until something else pops up. Toda springs and some ti retainers.

We have a small 10 litre fuel cell that were going to use up front.
It has to -6 feeds in the sump and We have 2 Walbro 255 inline pumps left over from some projects and were thinking running them both, as we don't want to have to spend money on bits I we can use what we have.

So we were thinking 2 x -6 lines feeding the pumps, after the pumps the 2 lines then tee into a -8 that will feed our rail.

Injector wise we have some Bosch 1600cc units and some Pte 1200cc units.
We're undecided yet on which injector to use.

We are aiming for around 500whp (or more of we're lucky) on the stock sleeves until we can afford a css or sleeved block.

Do you guys think the fuel set up will work at our power goal?

As said this is a
Toy/budget project essentially built out of left over spares etc.

Ideas/input would be welcome

Thanks

Daz

Ah well it appears that searching gives a half decent answer. Mr Miller reckons 800+ with twin 255's and 1600cc kind of answered my question.

Searching ftw!!

One of those pumps will do the power your looking for on gasoline. Two will give you room to grow. Two -6 feeds one to each pump and then into a unlock that feeds a single -8 or -10 I would run the 1200 injectors. 1600 on gas will have not so desirable idle and drive ability characteristics.

I would run a rail with a centered outlet, that way you can feed each pump into the rail individually. .. however if you require a manual fuel shutoff valve after the pump but before the rail that would be tricky.

Those 2 pumps at that level would really have an issue feeding enough fuel with a single -8 line. I would use -10 at a minimin and a -8 return

My buddy at Import Auto Pros made just shy of 900hp on dual 255's, 1600cc injectors, -6 feed and return, and c16 fuel. He was at approx 85% duty. With a bigger feed and bigger injectors, the setup can do more than 1000hp.

you can do it on 1000cc injectors and that stock block as well man

i have a bone stock gsr short block that made 550 plus on those injectors with e85 and its still alive after 4 years of beating on it.
